Another great season for the FCTC SW3.0 team! Moving south to the "Mid-Peninsula" division, we had our work cut out for us from the start. We had moved ourselves into the division with the tough Palo Alto and Sunnyvale teams! (Sunnyvale went all the way to Nationals last year.)While we spent most of the season comfortably locked into fifth place, in the last few weeks of the season we found ourselves actually being in contention for that coveted last playoff berth.
Thanks to the tenacity and spirit of all team members, we did end the regular season in fourth place, and are headed to Palo Alto to be the giant killers on March 6! Whatever the outcome, it's been a fun and exciting ride. Great job: Lynda (leaving us for the sunny climate of Guam!), Karen (moving up to 3.5), Dania, Patti, Mimi, Christine, Marcia (thanks, co-captain and advisor!), Mary, Gemma, Marie, Pat, Dianna, Sam, Vikki, Maureen, Fumi, and Phyllis. Many of these same wonderful ladies will be on the Adult W3.0A - let's go and have some fun!!

The Leo Ryan Sr Women 3.5 are proud to state that they finished number 1 in their division and are headed for the local league playoffs in March. We will need to survive 2 tough rounds of playoffs to get to the district level of play. The standings can be deceptive, because although we finished the season 12-3, we played each team 3 times and you would not be able to tell from the results just how difficult the matches were. This was no easy season.
Congratulations to the members of the team: Jane Bagley, Lori Bledsoe, Jan Buchwald, Christina Cooper, Jennifer Gurevitz, Brooke Howie, Jackie James, Mary Jenney, Helen Kishi, Jessie McElroy, Ann Nyser, Bev O'Rourke, Kathy Rudovsky, Linda San Felipe, Lisa Strait, Louise Tierney, Diane Weiss and Sara White.
Senior Women's 3.5A Team -- It Ain't Over Yet!

We are the new Team on the Senior Women's League block. This is our 1st year together and for many of us - our 1st year playing in the Senior's League.
We finished our regular season at #3 and are heading into the 1st round of Local League playoffs.
Only the #1 and #2 Teams were we unable to beat during our regular season, but "it ain't over yet".
Despite: illnesses, injuries, family, work, and business trip obligations, we never took a default and each member always stepped on the court and gave their all each time they played a match for the team.
Our successful season is due to 17 outstanding women: Barby Pickett, Carol Jue, Cathy Urban, Connie Sinksen, Dora Kreidl, Joan Holland, Joan Prack, Judy Prothro, Karen Chew, Marlys Ludlow, Mona Simpson, Olive Ebert,
Patty Coulson, Rosemary Bardi, Sheryl Thirlwall, Vikki Mion, and Yumi Yamamoto..... Also thanks to Marie Wong, our fill in practice sub.
May we make it to Districts this year, but if not then there's always next year "We'll definitely be back".Updated 2/20/05
